Derivatives at Local Extrema - Expii

Let f(x) be a function. All local extrema of f(x) are either stationary points (derivative exists and vanishes) or points of non-differentiability (derivative does not exist). This result is sometimes known as Fermat's theorem (or the interior extremum theorem). It will be useful for optimization later.
