Vertices, Transverse Axis, and Conjugate Axis of a Hyperbola - Expii

Unlike a parabola, a hyperbola has two vertices, one on each branch (U-shape). A hyperbola also has two different axes of symmetry: the transverse axis (passing through the two vertices) and the conjugate axis (which doesn't intersect the hyperbola at all).
