How do I add an explanation?

If you want to add your voice to Expii and write an explanation, start by using the search bar or topic map to find a topic to write about. You can add an explanation on any topic page. Here are some general guidelines:

  1. Write an explanation, not just an answer

Think about explaining the topic so that the reader understands it better, not just giving a formula or answer to copy down.

  2. Think outside the box

Do you have a creative way of thinking about the topic? We want you to share your approach, even if it looks different from what you might normally find in a textbook.

  3. Ask questions

Engage your readers by asking questions and prompting them to think about what they're learning – learn more here.

  4. Show, don't (just) tell

Images and videos that are relevant to your explanation can be a great way to get readers' attention.

To help keep this a friendly, educational space, please do not:

  1. Use profanity

Expii is for everyone, so please avoid mature or offensive language.

  2. Copy without citing

It's great if you want to share awesome explanations you've found, but make sure you've got the rights to post it and be sure to cite your source! Check out our terms and conditionsfor more information.

  3. Write carelessly

Students are looking to your explanations for help, so take the time to check for errors.
