Expii is introducing a paradigm shift in how to learn: point Grandmaster to the topics you’d like to focus on now, and it will give you the next step to grow toward your goal. Repeating this process gives you turn-by-turn directions — your GPS for the world of knowledge.

Begin Your JourneyHow Does It Work?

Building upon decades of research and rigorous statistical models, Grandmaster is the broadest scale implementation of an Elo-style rating system ever deployed on the open Internet.

Every problem has a rating, and every person has 10,000 ratings, one per topic in Expii’s mapped universe of math and science. With each encounter, both the problem’s rating and your topic rating update in real time, according to mathematically stable formulae grounded in statistical theory.

Your ratings indicate the difficulty of the problems you are able to solve, transcending traditional goals measuring success by standard tests. Optimal learning comes from facing challenging but not impossible situations. Grandmaster helps you focus on advancing your potential.

You’ll also find that Grandmaster problems start to feel like a game. When you are competing against problems to attain a higher score the stress of test taking disappears. Instead, any incorrect answers help both you and the world by simultaneously informing our system that the problem is relatively difficult (pushing up its rating), and guiding us in which difficulty level of problems to present to you for optimal learning. As you engage with Grandmaster, you’ll watch your ratings soar.
