The common basilisk is a species of lizard that lives in the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. It has many distinguishing characteristics, including a row of crests on the head and back. Another interesting feature of the common basilisk is its ability to run on water. The lizard can run across the surface of a lake without sinking.
