What Is the Fundamental Counting Principle?
===
There have been countless feuds between celebrities since the dawn of celebrities. There is the feud between Matt Damon and Jimmy Fallon, and the one between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj, yet another between Nicki and Taylor Swift. Of course, there is also the feud that puts all other feuds to shame, the fight that will outlast all fights, the OG (or “Original” with a capital O) beef―between Taylor and Kanye.
You see, there are so many random feuds between so many random people, it makes assigning seats at award shows kind of hard. Especially for award shows where people have to sit down at a round table, eating food, and making small talk. Luckily, this year’s Golden Globes ended peacefully. Everyone was happy―those who won a bit happier, those who lost perhaps a bit less happy.
Now, let’s imagine the following fiasco for a brief moment: someone at Golden Globes messed up their job, and assigned Kanye and Taylor to be at the same table.
Here is a hint to the question below.

Each table seats people, with seat positions numbered through Kanye and Taylor cannot sit next to or across from each other. How many ways are there to arrange seating?
