Hydrogen Bonds — Overview & Examples
Nucleotides are important in gathering and transferring chemical energy. DNA is made of four different nucleobases, called: guanine, cytosine, adenine, and thymine. You know that famous double helix shape of DNA? That happens because these nucleobases form two chains, which then hydrogen bond together (left image).

Guanine and cytosine are partners - they always hydrogen bond with each other. From the image above (right), figure out how many hydrogen bonds guanine and cytosine form with each other.
