Quadratic Functions - Definition & Examples
Cameron is fundraising by selling some donuts.
The function roughly represents the amount of donuts Cameron is selling. represents times in hours––for example, when , the function is the amount of donuts Cameron sold during the hour.
However, the function equals a negative number sometimes (you can check this by graphing the function), although Cameron cannot sell a negative amount of donuts. When the amount is negative, we simply record that Cameron sold donuts.
Lydia is helping Cameron record his sales. She decides to factor the function for simpler calculations.
