ABf(x)=2z−4xg(x)=z2+8x\begin{array}{c|c} A&B\\ \hline f(x)=2^z-4x&g(x)=z^2+8x \end{array}

It is your last turn in a card game, and you are deciding which of two cards to play. Card A would add f(12)f(12) points to your score while Card B would add g(12)g(12) points.

The catch is, you won't know the value of zz until after you play a card. After you have chosen which card to play, you will roll two fair six-sided dice (numbered 1 through 6) and take zz to be the sum of the two rolls.
