Let $X$ be a scheme, $f\in \mathcal{O}_X(X)$ a global section, and $U$ an open subscheme of $X$. Recall that $X_f$ is defined to be the set of points $x\in X$ such that $f_x\notin \mathfrak{m}_x$.
