You may have heard of pasteurization when talking about milk products, so you probably know it is used to make sure the milk is safe to drink and free of pathogens.

Milk enters the pasteurization process with working enzymes. It is heated until the enzymes are denatured and can no longer function properly. The milk is then cooled but the enzymes are still denatured. The milk is then pumped out.
