Let S=⨁d≥0SdS = \bigoplus_{d\geq0} S_d be a graded ring. Recall that an ideal II of SS is called homogeneous if II is generated by homogeneous elements. (For instance, the principal ideal of k[s,t]k[s,t] generated by s+ts+t would be a homogeneous ideal.)

For any ideal II of SS, define the following sets of primes:

  • Spec⁡S\operatorname{Spec} S denotes the set of prime ideals of SS;
  • V(I)={℘∈Spec⁡S:℘⊇I}V(I) = \{ \wp\in \operatorname{Spec} S: \wp\supseteq I\} denotes the set of prime ideals ℘\wp of SS containing II;
  • D(I)D(I) denotes the complement of V(I)V(I) in Spec⁡S\operatorname{Spec} S;
  • Proj⁡S\operatorname{Proj} S denotes the set of homogeneous prime ideals ℘\wp of SS not containing the irrelevant ideal S+=⨁d≥1SdS_+ = \bigoplus_{d\geq1} S_d of SS;
  • V+(I)={℘∈Proj⁡S:℘⊇I}V_+(I) = \{ \wp\in \operatorname{Proj} S: \wp\supseteq I\} denotes the the intersection V(I)∩Proj⁡SV(I)\cap \operatorname{Proj} S;
  • D+(I)D_+(I) denotes the complement of V+(I)V_+(I) in Proj⁡S\operatorname{Proj} S, or equivalently the intersection D(I)∩Proj⁡SD(I)\cap \operatorname{Proj} S.

Remark: In practice, one usually only cares about V+(I)V_+(I) and D+(I)D_+(I) for homogeneous ideals II.

Suppose II is a homogeneous ideal of SS contained in S+S_+. Let JJ be another homogeneous ideal of SS. Which of the following statements relating D(J),V(J),D(I),V(I),D+(I),V+(I)D(J),V(J),D(I),V(I),D_+(I),V_+(I) must be true?
