Behavioral Isolation — Definition & Examples

A population of otters live around an island. Some of the otters are swept to a different island after a storm. After a long time, the otters swim back to the original island. The original otters find mates by playing tag. The otters from the new island find mates by giving gifts of sea urchins. If the otters from the two populations do mate, their offspring have a hard time interacting and finding mates of their own.
