Density — Definition & Calculation
When something is more dense than water it will sink in water. Likewise, when something is less dense than water, it will float. This actually applies to any liquid. Lets say we have a column of liquid where the bottom layer is water and the top layer is oil. We put an object into the column and it sinks to the bottom of the oil but does not fall through the water layer. What can we say about the density of the object?
