Conservation of Energy
A boy wanted to see a butterfly, so he threw a 2kg chunk of butter violently and horizontally off of a 10-meter tall ladder at 10 m/s.
How much kinetic energy does the piece of butter have right before its contact with the ground, in joules? Assume that there is not air friction or external forces acting upon the piece of butter other than gravity, and that the piece of butter stays as one object throughout the duration of its flight. Use for the gravitational acceleration.
