In physics, experiments will often be conducted when the xx-axis value is nonzero. For example, when you record the relationship between electric potential across a wire and its current, you seldom record its electric potential when the current is 00, because you assume that the value would naturally be the limit of the V-I curve when I approaches 00. For this particular experiment, we can actually test when I is 00 and see that its corresponding potential is 00. However, in many other experiments you won't be able to measure the corresponding yy-axis value when the xx-axis value is 0. What will you do then?

Suppose, for example, that you want to measure the original speed of a uniformly decelerating car. You weren't there when the car began decelerating, but you can record its approximate speed once it is closer. If the car has speed 11 km/min 1515 minutes after it begins decelerating, and 100100 m/min another 4545 minutes afterwards, what would be the original speed of the car, with unit km/min?
