Allergies are immune disorders when a person's immune system mistakes something harmless, such as peanuts, as a potentially dangerous substance.
When it enters the body through the senses in any way, the body immune system overreacts to the substance and starts fighting it off. While fighting it off, the body shows symptoms that would usually happen if you got sick, such as sore throat, runy nose, and headaches. But now instead, the body gets sick from something that protrays no harm to you at all! Peanuts, pollen, cats, and eggs, allergies are a usual nuisance in some people, and at least one person in your classroom has an allergy.
People usually bring medicines along with them when they are in the prescence of something allergic to them. Even thought the symptoms are mild and can usually go away, some people suffer from a severe case of allergy reactions, called anaphylaxix, where an allergy can inflict such life-threatening symptoms to the person that they could go to emergency care.
