Here are some basic formatting templates. You can see the code by clicking "improve this lesson" below, or checking out [this link][https://expii.com/e/73/]. (In fact, URLs can be just as helpful as "ask" blocks.)
Large header
bold and italicized
bold
italics
strike-through
Small header
Block quote.
The blank line ">" in the eml above allows a line break.
Welcome to the tutorial of Links and formatting. In this article, you will learn how to make those fancy stuff you see the others use to format their articles nicely.
Compare :
Remainder
Did you learn division? If you do, you'll quickly realize that not every pair of numbers divides nicely. Most likely, there will be a remainder left when dividing.
For example :
What is the remainder when 2012 is divided by 5?
Answer : 2
and
Remainder
Did you learn division? If you do, you'll quickly realize that not every pair of numbers divides nicely. Most likely, there will be a remainder left when dividing. For example :
What is the remainder when 2012 is divided by 5?
Which option is better?
The second one clearly looks better.
How do you make such fancy stuff. Not to worry, I'll show you how to make things like that below :
Bold and italics
Bold : ** ** without the spaces
Looks like this.
Italic : * * without the spaces
Looks like this.
Bold and italic : *** *** without the spaces
Looks like this.
Header
There are two types of header :
Big Header
Type what you want as the header (you need a space before the title if your first word is latexed). Then, put three (or more, it doesn't matter) =s in the next line.
For example :
Big Header
<delete this line when you're really formatting>
===
Small Header
This is similar to big header, except you need to place -s.
For example :
Small Header
<delete this line when you're really formatting>
For more details, you can view the code of this article by clicking edit.
It is really simple. The format is like this : [description or whatever text you want here] (link URL). (without the space)
Again, for details, view the code of this article.
Latex
I'll not go into detail the latex code of everything. If you really need the code, see here. Note that you need to place your code between two dollar signs. For example, you can see the code of the following equation (by clicking edit) to see how it works :
43+x5yi=yeπ−ai.
Questions
Multiple-choice questions
How do you make the nice MCQ you see here? For instance :
Click on 3 to proceed.
If you want to make a multiple-choice question (with only one answer), then you can do it below :
Step 1 : Type < ask >. (without the spaces)
Step 2 : Type # if the choice is wrong and ## if the choice is correct.
Step 3 : (Optional) Type @ below the choice if you want a comment to show up when someone clicks on it.
Step 4 : Type < /ask >. (without the spaces)
Again, for further details, view the raw code of this post.
Checklist
What if you want more than one answer. For instance :
Which of the following values is equal to 2?
Instead of ## and #, you use #+ for answers that should be checked and #- for answers that should not be checked. The rest are the same. Note that the boxes are square instead of circle.
Fill in the blanks
For example :
What is the value of 2×3?
Note that the answer must be exact. Any slight difference and it will not be accepted.
How do you make such a thing? It's the same with MCQs except you don't use ## or #. You use instead. For example, the raw code of the fill-in-the-blank above is
< ask >
What is the value of 2×3?
6
< /ask >
(Remove some deliberately included space to make it work)
Pause
Sometimes, you might just want the reader to stop and ponder about something before continue.
Certainly, you can do it like this :
However, there's a faster and nicer way to do this, like the button below :
The code is < pause > (without the spaces). See all those continue buttons you pressed? Those are the work of < pause >.
Recap
Which of the following do you use to make headers?
Which of the following do you use to bold text? (remove unneccesary spaces)
What do you place at the beginning and the end of a question (like this)? (without the unneccesary spaces)
Finally, which of the following shows the continue button?
(remove unneccesary spaces)
