Multiplying and Dividing Fractions

Multiplying

Multiplying Fractions is just multiplying the numerators and denominators. For instance, 12∗23\frac{1}{2} * \frac{2}{3} is 1∗22∗3\frac{1 * 2}{2 * 3} so the answer is 26\frac{2}{6} or 13\frac{1}{3}.

Dividing

Dividing Fractions is done by multiplying the first fractions by the second fraction's numerator and denomitor flipped. For example, 12/23\frac{1}{2} / \frac{2}{3} is the same as 1 12∗32\frac{1}{2} * \frac{3}{2} so the final answer is 34\frac{3}{4}.
