Overview of Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy is a type of cancer treatment that uses drugs to destroy cancer cells. Chemotherapy stops or slows down the growth of rapidly dividing cells. While chemotherapy is meant to destroy rapidly dividing cancer cells it can also damage other rapidly dividing cells of your body such as those that line your mouth and intestines.
