What is a kite? A kite is any quadrilateral such that it has two pairs of equal sides, where the sides are adjacent to each other.
In the diagram, we have CD = DA, CB = AB so that ABCD is a kite.
Then we know angle ACB = CAB, angle DCA = DAC
What should we define X to be, to prove some more useful properties?
We define X not as the intersection of diagonals, but as the point on AC with AX = XC. We will attempt to show that DXB is then the diagonal.
We conclude that since all angles are 90 degrees (altitudes to isosceles triangles), DXB is a straight line.
We have shown that one dia.gonal bisects the other, and that in a kite the diagonals are perpendicular to each other.
Overall, kites aren't used too much, so this isn't that important.
