Imaginary and real Numbers

ii as you may know, is a imaginary number and is defined as −1\sqrt{-1}. The common form for writing an expression with ii, is a+bia+bi. There are two parts to this expression, the imaginary, and the real part.

Imaginary

ii is expressed with ii not ony because it looks cool (which it definitly is) but because it stands for imaginary. Now you might be able to guess which is the imaginary part. The imaginary part is i because imaginary means you cant plot it on a number line.

Real

The definition of real numbers are, unlike imaginary numbers, you can plot on a number line. So aa and bb always has to be the real parts or actual numbers.

Type a concept, like “slope” or “photosynthesis”.
