The Logic of Sets and Elements

A set is a collection of well-defined, distinct objects. The objects may be numbers, alphabets or anything else, be it tangible or intangible.

The objects of a set are called its elements.

Sets are represented by capital letters. Their elements are enclosed withing braces, i.e., {...}, and are separated by commas. Since the elements are distinct, it follows that the elements are not repeated in a set.
