Consider two lines. We can place them so that they intersect. Notice that they intersect exactly once. It is easy to see taht no matter how you place two lines, if they are in different places (i.e. not on top of each other), they cannot intersect more than once.
Can two lines not intersect at all?
If we place them side-by-side, like train tracks, so they are what we call parallel, they will not intersect at all!
Conclusion: Tow distinct lines cannot intersect more than once.
