Here's how to prove the vertical angle theorem. Suppose we have vertical angles.

Let's call ∠BAE=x\angle BAE = x and ∠DAC=y\angle DAC = y.

Due to the definition of supplementary angles, ∠BAD=180∘−x\angle BAD = 180^\circ-x. But also due to the definition of supplementary angles, ∠BAD=180∘−y\angle BAD = 180^\circ - y If 180∘−x=180∘−y180^\circ-x=180^\circ-y, then −x=−y-x=-y, and x=yx=y, therefore proving that ∠BAE≅∠DAC\angle BAE \cong \angle DAC.

Type a concept, like “slope” or “photosynthesis”.
