Imaginary and Complex Numbers - Expii

Way back in the 1500s, Italian mathematicians "dreamed up" imaginary numbers while thinking about polynomials. Originally used for abstractions like "solving" quadratics without real roots, nowadays "i" comes up everywhere in engineering, physics, and math. (Some "real" things can only be expressed using complex numbers!).
