Video By: Organic Chemistry Tutor

Within this video, we are given comprehensive examples of the different problems we can solve using solution stoichiometry.

What is solution stoichiometry?

This is the same type of stoichiometry we have run into in the past, except instead of dealing with solely mass, we are evaluating a chemical reaction that is made up of solutions. Solutions are made up of a solute and a solvent. Within stoichiometry problems, we always use the mole ratio found in our balanced chemical equation to evaluate the amount of our products and reactants.

The variables found within solution stoichiometry problems are molarity, volume, and the molar equivalency from the balanced chemical equation. Through solution stoichiometry problems we can determine how much volume of a reactant is needed to react completely with another reactant. We can also determine the molarity of a resulting solution after a reaction occurs and the theoretical amount of product that will form.

Type a concept, like “slope” or “photosynthesis”.
